Structure evolves in soft matter either by the nucleation of ordered phases or by the segregation of components due to incompatibility. This lecture is focussed on the incompatibility which prevails among polymers. It yields many nano, micro, and macro phase structures. Simple polymers blends form irregular micro-macro morphologies while block copolymers form excellently ordered nanostructures. Between these extremes are the mixtures of homopolymers with block copolymers that feature a wild zoo of nano-micro structures. With graft instead of block copolymers, the situation is even more complex as superstructures emerge. This will be demonstrated and, as far as possible, interpreted.
